About This Trail
This lightly trafficked loop offers wildlife viewing along spawning grounds for pink, chum, and coho salmon in fall, and Dolly Varden and steelhead in spring. At the top of the loop, the trail follows the main stream through spruce and hemlock; trail markers end at a lava pool with fossils. The trail offers a glimpse into old growth forest and the chance to see remarkable root formations.
