This collection of art photography is a result of collaboration by John Thomas and Donna Duffy, partners of 45 years. The two live and work in Haida Gwaii, British Columbia. They have a background in storytelling/theatre and poster art, both of which influence their art. Other artistic influences include photographer Man Ray and some of the surrealist artists including Salvadore Dali.
Haida Gwaii artists, Donna Duffy and John Thomas use digital photography to explore the realm of dreams, taking everyday objects or scenes and creating whimsical images that invoke a sense of wonder or playfulness. “We look for a form that catches our interest and then work to accentuate that quality that sparks the imagination. Inspired by the magic of Haida Gwaii, we look to capture that sense of magic in our images.”
