An easy trail near Daajing Giids, the Crabapple Creek Trail meanders up and down all through the woods.
Inaccurately described as loop trail in local literature, the terminus of this hike is in different spot from trailhead. Two main entry points: one is at the west end of 2nd Avenue at the cul-de-sac. The second is adjacent to the old logging truck shop that marks tye beginning of Daajing Giids (Queen Charlotte, or Skidegate) Mainline road. Look for the rough hewn bear chainsaw sculpture and old logging equipment. Trailhead clearly marked in both with signage “Crabapple Creek Trail.”
This trail is located near Daajing Giids and reasonably well maintained, with beautiful forest views. Takes you alongside the Crabapple Brook loop. Some muddy & steep sections; sturdy footwear advised. Note that trail links up with informal “Backyard Trails” system running the ridge behind Daajing Giids; keep to marked trail unless you’re familiar with the area.
Total walk time is roughly 30 minutes one-way.
Access at the west end of town, this easy hike near Daajing Giids has an elevation change of around 40 m (130 ft).
